“Enjoy the Season”, is the current exhibition at Top of the Torrens Gallery in Birdwood. The exhibition was opened by Roland Weight of Riverton on Sunday, April 1st. The exhibition showcases the art work of four Mid North artists who are current members of the Balaklava Art Group.

Ana Tossell’s iconic Australian paintings are vibrant, whilst her delicate unframed watercolours are delightful and very affordable. Valerie Veitch’s brilliant landscapes and still life works are counterbalanced by three delightful portraits.

Jen Searle’s paintings of famous people are captivating and her vibrant Japanese heads display a great sense of design. Jeanette Muller’s works have an emphasis on the impression of nature with dancing dolphins, silhouettes and plant life. Her poetic talent is displayed on some souvenir book marks.

These country artists are testament to the value of encouraging the arts in rural South Australia. Come along and see for yourself what four South Australians can achieve and you too might be inspired to pick up a brush or pick up one of their beautiful works of art and take it home to grace your walls!

The gallery is open every day except Tuesday from 11am to 4pm.
This exhibition will hang until May 23rd.
