
Balhannah - On December 21st, 1839, James Turnbull Thomson (Dundee Scotland) lodged the registration for Section 4208 including the ‘Great Road’ & ‘Stock Pens’. Prior to survey, this area was used for grazing by men waiting for the survey. James Thomson recorded in his diary that he named his township after his mother and sister Bell and Hannah.
The Hill’s Band Festival brings nine great Hill’s bands together in one big concert. Community, town and school bands come together in July to perform jazz, swing, pop, big brass and classical for anyone who loves music!
The Festival will be held on Sunday, July 1st from 12.30pm to 5pm at the Lobethal Centennial Hall, Main Street, Lobethal. It features performances by; Adelaide Hills Concert Band, Cornerstone College, Hahndorf Town Band, Minor Magic, Mt Barker District Concert Band, Murray Bridge Concert Band, Tea Tree Gully Concert Band, St Johns Grammar School and Trinity College.

Holly & the Buddies World Tour of the Adelaide Hills
Popular Adelaide retro rock ‘n’ roll band, Holly and the Buddies, is set to launch their “World Tour of the Adelaide Hillsâ€, when they appear over four consecutive weekends at major Hills events during the month of March.
The band, which regularly plays in and around Adelaide, performs music by famous 50s and 60s recording artists including Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, Cliff Richard, the Everly Brothers, Connie Francis and the Beatles.
