
Gumeracha and District History Centre members last week toured historic places in the town of Mount Torrens guided by local member and historian, Kym Clark. Some of the Highlights were to visit the St. Georges Anglican Church - kindly opened and escorted by Mrs. Gwen Turner, the Mt. Torrens Uniting Church, the Mt. Torrens Hall and the history of the early pioneers and the buildings in this most historic township.
The new Top of the Torrens Theatre group production of ‘BARNYS FAIR’ has uncovered more local talent with the inclusion of performers from Birdwood High School, Felicity Miller and Lauren Campbell, plus Tess Varney from Birdwood Primary School.
The girls came to rehearsal to be part of the chorus but have shown such talent that they are now included in the character parts. In this, TOTT’s 21st production, we find ourselves in an Old English Fairground run by the O’Shea family, Barney, his mother Grannie, his wife Irene, and their daughter Cathy.

We’re not too sure if all the fantasies did come true, but members of the local theatre group, Top of the Torrens Theatre Group, had great fun in performing their latest production of, “Where It All Comes Trueâ€. With only a short break, auditions and rehearsals will start now for the popular theatre/restaurant show to be held during November.
