
Two teams from the Birdwood High School travelled to Christchurch, New Zealand, earlier in April to compete in the first ever World Student Golf Challenge. Student teams from around the world will be competing.
There are 54 teams from around the world competing in this world-first event in Christchurch, New Zealand.
27 schools from Australia (17 teams), South Africa (7 teams) and New Zealand (30 teams) will contest in the event at four different Christchurch courses (Coringa, Templeton, Waitkiri and Harewood).
The Gumeracha Primary School has been awarded Equal Best Environmental School at this years KESAB Tidy Towns and Environmental Schools Awards Ceremony held at AAMI Stadium on December 1st.
Along with Woodside Primary and Pt Vincent Primary, Gumeracha was chosen from 224 other competing schools from across the state.
The award reflects the commitment by students, staff and parents to positive action within the community as well as including environmental education within its curriculum and day to day activities at the school.
On Wednesday, September 27th, 2006 the students at the Lobethal Lutheran School participated in an Aussie Rules Footy Clinic at their school run by the Norwood Football Club.
Two SANFL players, Matthew and Brendon from the Norwood Football Club, conducted sessions with all the year levels.
Each session started with a warm up and games using the oval footballs.
