New Penny Pony Book

New Penny Pony BookHot on the ‘heels and hooves achievements’ of our outstanding 2008 Olympic Equestrians, especially South Australia’s own Megan Jones and her fabulous grey horse Kirby Park Irish Jester, a new book for horse/pony lovers has been released by well-known local author/publisher, Glenda Couch-Keen.

“Penny, Picky & Pippin, Minka & Max” is the real story and sequel to Glenda’s last sell-out success book, “Penny Down Under – Australia’s Tribute to Thelwell”.

The 136 page children’s novel, including a poignant ‘ps’ and a reference section, tells the story of Penny and her two ponies and two horses, on which she experiences many ups and downs, successes and setbacks as she learns to ride, attends Pony Club, horse shows, riding camps, trial rides and follows the Hunt Club hounds.

In the colour soft cover book with ten black and white illustrations, readers join Penny in her experiences with both sporting and unsporting behaviours, kindness and emotions of pleasure, fear, grief and love.

The books, released following an enjoyable ‘Penny Pony Party’ Thankyou Afternoon Tea held at Balhannah last Sunday, where invited guests were presented with a complimentary gift copy, are available for $14.95 from Bonnetts Saddleworld stores or direct from Glenda on 8538 7082 or email glenda.springton@hotmail.com with part proceeds in aid of ‘Riding for Disabled, Driving for Disabled’ in particular.
