With winter on the way, the Hahndorf Interim Animal Shelter is appealing to the public for help for the dogs and cats at the shelter who desperately need warm bedding.

Any blankets, towels, sheets, quilts, cushions, pillows, old sweaters etc that you no longer have any use for would be so helpful.

To arrange collection of donated items, please phone either Janet on 8568 5653 or Dawn on 8568 5720, or if donors prefer to drop off items directly at the shelter, opening times are as follows: Thursday to Saturday, 12.30 to 2.30pm and other times by arrangement on 8388 7514.

The shelter is located at Lot 8, Martin Road, Hahndorf, a short distance down Balhannah Road.

Animal shelters are always in need of help and funds, Hahndorf being no exception.

So, if anyone can spare a little time to help with cleaning kennels and cat pens, walking the dogs, fussing the cats, fund-raising, publicity, or bedding collections, we would be very pleased to hear from you.

And don’t forget the reason for the shelter in the first place, to find homes for the many abandoned dogs and cats - your perfect companion is waiting for you to take them home!
