New faces for T.O.T.T.

New faces for T.O.T.T.The new Top of the Torrens Theatre group production of ‘BARNYS FAIR’ has uncovered more local talent with the inclusion of performers from Birdwood High School, Felicity Miller and Lauren Campbell, plus Tess Varney from Birdwood Primary School.

The girls came to rehearsal to be part of the chorus but have shown such talent that they are now included in the character parts. In this, TOTT’s 21st production, we find ourselves in an Old English Fairground run by the O’Shea family, Barney, his mother Grannie, his wife Irene, and their daughter Cathy.

They scrape a living along with handy man Paddy, Madam Valda the fortune teller, Nellie the Belly Dancer and Wan Hung Low the herbalist. Then their happy lives are upset by the villainous Mortimer Stubbs. Pandemonium reigns as they try to keep the show on the road.

This show is the usual mix of songs, jokes and laughter with audience participation from the pen of acclaimed Australian playwright Judith Prior. The evening shows include a three course sumptuous meal and will be performed at the Mt Pleasant Hall on November 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th and a Matinee on Sunday, November 25th.

The show will then be staged at the Gumeracha Hall on Friday, November 30th and Saturday, December 1st. The evening shows cost $32 per head (children under 12 – $15) BYO drinks and glasses and the matinee costs $20 (concessions – $15; children – $10).

Bookings are essential with Elaine on 8568 5337.
